Extra-Curricular Programmes
The establishment of extra-curricular programmes is paramount in fostering personal growth and promoting leadership. There are opportunities like debates, essay writing, quizzes, music, dance and drama, art and painting, educational tours etc. Our extra-curricular programme runs in conjunction with our house teams. Most Saturdays, events are organised allowing students to work with other students of different ages, encouraging co-operation, team spirit and some healthy competition.

Music, Dance and Drama

Shalom takes initiative in acquainting students with our cultural ethos and tries to retain our heritage through music, dance and drama. The school organises demonstrations by eminent theatre personalities who acquaint the students with finer nuances of theatre and drama. The school provides every student opportunity to learn western and Indian classical dance under the guidance of trained dance teachers. Expert music teachers teach musical instruments like keyboard, guitar, flute and harmonium to a selected group of students. Every year our students perform in at least one of the several cultural extravaganzas hosted for parents and local dignitaries displaying their skills in dance, theatre, music and singing.
Sports

Our sporting successes have included winning positions for our athletics, basketball, boxing, judo, handball and cricket teams. We have sports activities so that students from all age groups can enjoy, relax and exercise all at the same time. We have first class coaches who are ready to help the students and teach them how to develop skills and good sportsmanship. Opportunities are also available to practice table tennis, taekwondo, chess, carom and yoga.
Art & craft

Our students bring out their creativity through art and craft. The school’s art & craft experts teach students glass painting, emboss painting, tie and dye, pottery, origami, sketching and a range of craft activities.
Educational Tour

An educational tour offers students of all Classes an opportunity for a rich immersion experience. While an educational tour is great fun, it differs from a vacation. Typically led by a teacher and group chaperones, such trips provide invaluable global learning. On an educational college trip students experience culture firsthand. Students come to appreciate parts of the world on a much deeper level than they ever could in the classroom. Students converse and socialize with local people, which broadens their perspective greatly.
